The first act of Avatar 4 has already been shot, according to producer Jon Landau.
Avatar: The Way of Water has earned $2.2 billion worldwide since its release in December 2022. Only two films rank higher than the sequel: the first "Avatar" – $ 2.9 billion and "Avengers: Endgame" – $ 2.7 billion.
Landau said in October 2022 that he had logistical reasons to complete the first act of Avatar 4, but that we haven't filmed everything yet. Only the first act is going to introduce new cultures and biomes, and we'll keep the cultures we've already encountered.
Avatar 3 is expected to be released in 2024, while Avatar 4 will be released in 2026. The fifth Avatar movie is scheduled for 2028.
