Final Fantasy 16 is still far away (or getting closer, depending on your point of view), and we have yet to see in depth a long uncut presentation of the system combat. The time has not come yet, but we can at least enjoy a quick video which depicts the protagonist and a creature from the game world, with the support of the dog Torgal.
The video has been shared online since the official profile of Final Fantasy 16 on Twitter, in the Japanese language. The protagonist Clive and his dog Torgal fight a "Gray Claw." The creature is a giant reddish scorpion.
Torgal can attack opponents and also lift them into the air under Clive's command. However, only after casting a fire spell is Torgal sent to attack once more.
In the lower left, various actions related to the direction cross are shown. Torgal is also a healing tool, as well.
It's a fairly straightforward combat with a single opponent that doesn't appear particularly powerful, but which allows us to appreciate the actions available in Final Fantasy 16.
Final Fantasy 16 is still being discussed by Square Enix, as it does not want to reveal which engine it used, rather which one it isn't.
