Samsung has announced the Exynos Connect U100, the company's first ultra-wideband (UWB) processor, which is intended for use in several key industries, including mobile communications hardware, automotive, and Internet of Things (IoT).

Samsung claims that the U100 offers ranging and positioning capabilities as well as security that may be utilized for a broad spectrum of applications. UWB is a short-range wireless communication technology that allows for low-power data transfers across a wide frequency spectrum.

The Connect U100 has a resolution of single-digit centimeters and under five degrees, making it ideal for GPS applications and even VR experiences, where monitoring of minute movements is crucial. It also has a power-saving feature that makes it ideal for smart tags and other similar wireless equipment.

Samsung has also unveiled the "Exynos Connect" brand, which will be used for short-range wireless communication solutions, including Bluetooth and WiFi devices.
