The Government has approved the Youth Cultural Bonus for the second year in a row after the success, as well as the controversy, of 2022, and we already have the conditions for you to request it.
The Council of Ministers has just approved the Youth Cultural Bonus 2023, which, as you are aware, will be available to those who turn 18 this year, and will be able to use different amounts for various arts.
The new Youth Cultural Bonus 2023 may be received as a kind of prepaid card, as well as on the go.
Young people who turn 18 in 2023 will be eligible for a €200 reward for live arts, cultural heritage, and audiovisual arts, and this year's novelty comes in: bullfighting.
The inclusion of bullfighting is explained by RTVE after the Supreme Court upheld the Toro de Lidia Foundation's appeal against a royal decree regulating the cultural voucher and prohibiting bullfighting from cultural activities.
Another €100 can be spent on tangible cultural goods, such as books, magazines, but also video games, DVDs, Blu-rays, and the like.
The remaining €100 may be used for digital or online consumption, such as subscriptions to audiovisual or musical streaming platforms.
Nevertheless, certain foods are not included in the list.
Handicraft items, plastic and graphic artwork, stationery, curricular textbooks, courses, workshops, equipment, software, hardware, and computer and electronic consumables are not included in the Bono Cultural Joven 2023. Sports events, fashion and gastronomy are also included.
The beneficiary will have a year to spend the €400 on various cultural activities and it can only be used in Spain-related businesses or institutions as part of the program.
In any event, this help is compatible with any other public assistance, income, or resources provided by other public authorities.
