Select 8BitDo game controllers now support Apple devices that have the most recent version of their operating systems as a result of recent firmware upgrades.
Apple included support for 8BitDo controllers with the release of iOS 16, but required 8BitDo to release the latest firmware.

8BitDo's native software upgrade allows Apple devices to recognize controllers as Apple-specific controllers rather than generic Nintendo controllers. That allows gamers to fully utilize all of the controller's capabilities, allowing the use of more buttons on selected controllers than would be possible on system-specific controllers.
8BitDo intends to include Apple devices in more of its controllers at a later date, according to 9to5Mac.
