Final Atelier Ryza 3 Character Stories in an Interview

Final Atelier Ryza 3 Character Stories in an Interview ...

Atelier Ryza 3 is coming to an end, even if an anime will provide a fresh perspective on the story. People spent four years watching Ryza and her friends blossom up since the original game's 2019 release. Now, we're seeing where the characters' journeys will lead them, with Atelier Ryza 3 serving as an ending.

Jenni Lada: When did the conception of Atelier Ryza 3 begin, and did you anticipate it to be a trilogy?

Junzo Hosoi: The creation of Atelier Ryza 3 began shortly after Atelier Ryza 2 was released. I always dreamed of putting the Secret series together into a trilogy.

We thought it would only be a two-part series or a trilogy if it did develop. After seeing the players' reactions to the game, we figured it would only be a two-part series.

What impact did this have on the development of each one of the personal story arcs?

Atelier Ryza, Atelier Ryza 2, and Atelier Ryza 3 are all developed by the games (Hosoi). By gaining insight into the subject, Ryza is able to confront the challenges she faces in her island, and also Klaudia, Lent, and Tao begin to think about their own futures.

"The future of the friends" represents the trilogy in a way, so I hope everyone will enjoy it and see what choices they make.

What aided Bos becoming a playable character in Atelier Ryza 3, and how did fan demand influence it?

Hosoi: Bos has become a playable character because of fan feedback and the development team's reactions. He is a popular character so there were discussions internally about making him a playable character, but there were also many difficulties in determining where he would fit in.

We thought that the story would need to have Bos as a result, but since we wanted Atelier Ryza 2 to continue to develop, we decided that the four characters who developed their bonds in the first adventure, Ryza, Lent, Tao, and Klaudia, would be the ones to travel to the capital and have a good time with the people they meet there.

We decided to exhibit Bos in Atelier Ryza 3.

Which section of Atelier Ryza 3 did you like the most, and why?

Hosoi: I find it difficult to pick just one character as the best progression. I think that all of Ryza's and all of her friends on the island have taken a shape that we are very happy with.

I have a great deal of distrust towards these characters, whom I have been together with for many years.

In Atelier Ryza 3, will there be paired endings, or different endings depending on the player's choices?

Hosoi: The major story does not have a single conclusion. Despite that, there are world quests that unfold and are unique to each region, character episodes for each character, and many other elements that can be enjoyed as part of the main story.

Atelier Ryza 3 was delaying the launch due to a delay just weeks before it was launched. What did the development process look like in a situation such as this?

Hosoi: The game is made up of the most material from the Atelier series, such as the number of party members and the size of the field, so we focused on ensuring that the game's stability and functionality are maintained.

We made a few tweaks to the usability, so there are tweaks that will make it a better game for everybody to enjoy. We apologize for requiring everyone to wait longer for the game's release.

Will Ryza's tale in this installment end definitively, or may she be returning?

Ryza's story comes to an end thanks to Hosoi: Atelier Ryza 3.

We saw character-focused enhancements in the original Atelier Ryza, while the sequel included additional items. What kinds of DLC are you planning to create for Atelier Ryza 3?

Hosoi: We've announced that there will be costumes, including swimsuits, additional areas, recipe expansion packs, BGM packs, and other things, so we're hoping to have content that will keep everyone engaged in the game for a long time.

Is there anything new you'd like to pursue next in the Atelier series?

Hosoi: I think it's feasible to create a major system outside of synthesis.

On March 23, 2023, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key will be released to PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.
