Intel's rating has been upgraded by analysts as it has no longer trails AMD in the consumer market ...

Intel's management keeps stating that the company managed to strengthen its consumer position last year, and that the wide variety of existing and future processors of this marque allows us to count on at least continuing to surpass AMD this year. Against this backdrop, the rating of Intel's shares was upgraded from negative to neutral.

According to the authors of the analytical note, Intel's current PC line improves its position in the market. In addition, the company maintains a good performance management system in the area of frequency of release of new components.

AMD and Intel saw their desktop processor shipments decrease in the fourth quarter of last year, but in a year-on-year comparison, the latter managed to increase its share immediately by 4.7 percentage points to 18.6% – Intel's consumer segment is 81.4 percent, while AMD's share in the mobile segment was up 0.8 percentage points.

Intel's data center segment is still at risk in the short term, especially in the Asian market, but the company's PC segment has begun to stabilize. Such remarks appear to have contributed to the firm's share price rising yesterday, by 6.23%.
