Xiaomi is working on its own operating system, MIOS ...

Xiaomi has begun the process of preparing a backup plan.

Previously, there were rumors about the Xiaomi operating system's 2013-2014 release. Some insiders have claimed that the Mi 4 will be released on Android, but instead it will be powered by MIOS. It was a time of rapid growth for the company, and they decided not to risk switching to a different operating system.

The soaked image shows a Xiaomi phone's internal MiOS build. This alpha version is scheduled to be released on November 5, 2022.

Tensions between the United States and China can have unpredictable consequences, and Xiaomi understands this. The example of how Huawei, an apparently inflexible company, almost lost everything following the sanctions, illustrates how the Chinese government must maintain a backup plan.

Xiaomi is concerned that the United States might follow through on threats to impose licenses on Google services, and may reduce its dependence on Android, even if it is open source.

MIOS may appear to resemble MIUI because it is an emulator for Android, like HarmonyOS. However, internally it will be different because it is based on Google's Fuchsia rather than a monolithic kernel like Linux.

I wonder if MIOS will allow you to unlock the bootloader?
