The next iteration of OpenAI's language model, the GPT-4, has been dubbed a "matter of buzz." It would elevate artificial intelligence to a whole new level, instilling and enabling a level of intelligent automation that has never been seen before (for consumers).
Initially, only paid ChatGPT Plus subscribers will have access to GPT-4's new capabilities. These include the ability to edit, upload, and generate images, as well as the standout feature, the ability to make AI videos from text.
In a developer livestream, OpenAI displays GPT-4's capabilities.
Greg Brockman, OpenAI's president and co-founder, presented the GPT-4 language model in a developer livestream, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses.
GPT-4 can respond with up to 25,000 words, eight times more words than the free version of ChatGPT. This expanded word limit allows the chatbot to provide more context in its responses.
Ability to Provide Image Contexts
GPT-4 is now capable of processing image inputs, which is a significant improvement from ChatGPT's text-only capabilities.
OpenAI used GPT-4 to create a Discord bot that could handle both text and image inputs. Although the bot was unable to react immediately to the image input and had some bugs, it was able to recognize the image and provide context.
This would certainly be a significant upgrade given that the current free version of ChatGPT does not include image processing capabilities.
Developers Playground for Chat Completions
GPT-4 will be available shortly to ChatGPT Plus users and developers who utilize the ChatGPT API. Developers will have access to the Chat Completions Playground feature, which allows them to train and steer the GPT model towards their objectives.
Other Features
While GPT-4's capabilities are still being refined, there is speculation that it might be used to develop a tax tool that allows individuals to handle complicated tax returns themselves, without the need for a professional.
OpenAI was able to construct a website from a handwritten drawing, which might prove beneficial for those who have no experience in programming their own websites.
GPT-4 would open doors to endless possibilities and might as well alter how we interact with technology. Some of the features demonstrated in the stream are quite impressive, including the ability to manipulate images and create artificial intelligence videos out of text.
