The Chinese Zhurong rover did not wake up in time, as you know, and this is confirmed by satellite photographs, either by a significant cooling of the batteries or by inadequate energy generation by the solar panels of the apparatus. There is a good possibility that the rover will melt and continue to work in the landing area in April.
Yi Xu, an associate professor at the University of Science and Technology in Macau, said he believes that the rover might be resurrected. He also stated that the rover's batteries must be warmer than -15° C, and the solar panel's power should not exceed 140 watts.
The air temperature on Mars can reach 20° C near the equator in the summertime. Therefore, the heating up of the rover, sufficient to start the batteries and onboard equipment, may occur not in April, but in May or later.
The Zhuzhong rover went to Mars in May 2021. He completed the scientific task assigned to him, which included working three earth months. After that, he entered hibernation again in May 2022. Perhaps this will happen due to natural causes in a month or two.
