After Lance Reddick's sudden death, fans and professionals are mourning the loss of the American actor. We examine the veteran's video games credits, including Destiny's Zavala and Horizon's Sylens.
Reddick was widely reported to have died at the age of 60 on Friday, March 17, 2023, according to a spokesperson for the actor, who said he "passed away unexpectedly this morning from natural causes."
Reddick is working on a number of film projects, including the highly anticipated John Wick: Chapter 4, as well as Percy Jackson and the Olympians and White Men Can't Jump.

In the Destiny franchise, Lance Reddick reimagined Commander Zavala.
After playing Awoken Guardian and Vanguard Commander of The Last City, avid gamers of Destiny's popular FPS video game franchise paid their respects to Lance Reddick.
In 2014's Destiny, the first film by Bungie Studios to include Reddick's acting talents, including Peter Dinklage, Nathan Fillion, and The Walking Dead actors Lauren Cohan and Lennie James, Reddick starred as Commander Zavala.
Reddick reprised Zavala in Destiny: The Taken King in 2015, Destiny 2, 2018, Destiny 2: Forsaken, and Destiny 2: The Witch Queen in 2022.
Sylens was played by Lance Reddick in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Reddick played Zavala in numerous movies, but also played a returning character in Guerrilla Games' Horizon franchise, which has since developed board games, a new television series, and a Tallneck Lego figure.
In both Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West, Sylens played Eclipse creator and deuteragonist.
Through motion capture technology, Reddick acted as Sylens' model, mimicking the actor's facial features.

Reddick's credits included Payday 2 and Quantum Break.
Reddick's first video game credit came in 2009's 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, in which he played Carter.
As the popular movie franchise shares a canon universe with Overkill Software's video game series, Reddick reprised his role as Charon in 2013's Payday and 2016's Quantum Break.
The fourth installment of John Wick: Chapter 4 will be released on March 24, 2023.
