Threats to several employees of the studio have been made.
Rust, a survivalist, canceled a fan event at the Game Developers Conference because to death threats. According to producer Alistair MacFarlane, several studio employees received such threats.
Developers are particularly targeted by members of the "cheating community," according to McFarlane. They "often go to great lengths to harass specific employees."
The producer did not discuss the dangers in detail, but stated that they decided to take them seriously.
Although the fan meeting has been postponed, the Rust developers will continue to work on the game development session itself.
This is an interesting story.
