Razer has just released its first glass gaming mousepad that is designed to provide the smoothest mouse glide with zero drag, and it includes just that warning.
The Razer Atlas is a tempered glass gaming mouse pad. This is a fairly large rug, measuring 17.72′′ x 15.75′′, that is quite unusual, but it has a nice premium appearance and feel.
Because it's glass, PC gamers prefer faster-moving shooters because it's less friction than cloth or even hard plastic. The surface will always be smooth (assuming it's clean). Cloth or plastic mats can wear and tear over time.
On the product page, the Razer Atlas includes weird warnings on how not to use it. I'm sure this is a joke, but what if it isn't?
The Razer Atlas should not be used for UV protection from the sun, as this is in order to avoid being caught on fire. Lastly, and perhaps most important, Razer wants to ensure that you don't hit anyone over the head with the Atlas glass gaming mat. Because of the thickness and hardness of tempered glass, you might seriously harm someone's head.
