In the Spring Sale, the price of the Steam Deck has been drastically reduced.
The Steam Deck has never had even a minor price decrease in its entire existence, despite several online postings. Today, however, the Steam Spring Sale begins with the first official Steam Deck discounts, alongside the usual dealsplosion of discounted titles.
After we talked about the Deck's first year in the wild, the Steam Deck might not be involved in another Steam sale for a long time if not forever. Thus, you'll have until March 23 (the conclusion of the Spring Sale) to take advantage of the reduced price of the portable PC, or permanently.
The 64GB version of Steam Deck is up for grabs, with the 256GB version down from £459/$529 to £413/$476.10, and the 512GB version down for the second week of Valve's one-to-two-week delivery estimate.
Is it possible to purchase a Steam Deck for such a price? No, really, it's your money. However, I'm not sure that the Steam Deck was already excellent when it was first released, and that it has only improved with software-based feature improvements.
Before you take Valve's offer, I'd like to point you towards our top Steam Deck games guide and our selection of the finest Steam Deck microSD cards. The latter is particularly true because, although being a fairly impressive hardware combination, none of the three games is included in the sale price. Like the Valve Index VR equipment being permanently packaged with Half-Life Alyx, I asked Yang if Valve had ever considered doing this.
"It's been discussed as you indicated, and as you mentioned, we've done it in the past with other hardware."
“It may be difficult to select the appropriate game to bundle because our userbase is so broad.”
