Splash Damage, a British game studio based in the United Kingdom, announced that it will collaborate with Shroud to develop its next game. This project, which also collaborates with content creator Sacriel, will be a brand new "AAA open world survival game."
The new survival game is known for the time being only Project Astrid. Splash Damage will be the sole developer, with a studio of 450 developers, which is currently working on Transformers: Reactivate.
“Sacriel and Shroud are key members of our development team, giving us a whole new perspective on what gamers and creators want out of their games,” said Lance Winters, project director at Project Astrid.
Both Sacriel and Shroud have agreed to take on the roles of "executive creator."
“We want to be the finest survival game ever, and with the ideas of Sacriel and the Splash Damage team, I know we can,” Shroud stated of the new collaboration, clearly encapsulating a bold vision of what the project will eventually become.
Given the fact that Project Astrid has just been announced, we'll likely be waiting a few years for an update. Splash Damage is working on a second game at the same time.
