One of the world's most well-known and successful rock bands, Metallica, decided to expand their business and purchased Furnace Record Pressing, a vinyl record factory.
Furnace Record Pressing has been producing high quality vinyl for ten years. The company helped Metallica keep the majority of its albums available, as well as a growing number of box sets, last year. The band sells about half of their records in the United States.
Metallica was ranked in the top selling vinyl bands in the United States in 2022 and 2021. A year earlier, 337 thousand albums were sold, which ranked in the seventh spot.
The price of the record company's purchase has not been established. Metallica will continue to work on other projects while also receiving a production partner for any manufacturing concerns.
