Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is the direct sequel to Zelda Breath of the Wild, which was released in 2017 on Nintendo Switch. After reinventing the way one moves in an open world, Nintendo takes the lead following the release of Breath of the Wild.
With a destroyed and desolate world, Hyrule finds itself even more at Ganon's mercy. During the few minutes of official trailer, we could see Hyrule's vast expanses, but also, the floating islands above the kingdom. Link now has new tools via his robotic arm.
The game's main narrative is obscure, but there are certainly new creatures and technologies for Link, such as vehicles to roam in this vast open world.
Zelda's new formula seems to be working well, and players are enjoying this open-ended view of the world around them. The Nintendo Switch will release on May 12, 2023.
