James Gunn, an American filmmaker, announces that he will direct and compose the script for Superman: Legacy, the next film that will launch the new DC Extended Universe.
Gunn wanted to discuss how he came to direct Superman, pointing out that at the start he did not feel prepared to document the superhero he had always envisioned. It wasn't until several months ago that he decided to do one of his life's films.
Nevertheless, this news has been confirmed, and DC has released the first synopsis of this Man of Steel reboot on its official website.
Gunn wanted to add in his Twitter thread that he wants to know how his original parents' Kryptonian aristocracy influenced his adoptive parents' farm lives on Earth in keeping with what choices made in the film. The release date for Superman: Legacy will be announced on July 11, 2025 in several countries.
