The familiar light and darkness rules will not be retained by Frictional Games' developers in an interview.
The previous "Amnesia" spin-offs' most well-known gameplay features were the sanity mechanics, which reflected the characters' mental state and influenced gameplay in different ways.
The sanity mechanics will no longer play a role in the next installment of the popular horror series, according to Fredrik Olsson, who established the "Amnesia" series in the past.
The alternation between light and darkness is a fundamental mechanic of the "Amnesia" series, which is close to the Frictional Games team's heart and was therefore taken into account in "The Bunker", offering the opportunity to modernize the gameplay in line with the series.

"We kept one of the most popular Amnesia gameplay elements - the interplay of dark and light." In this game, the player chases the player under cover of darkness, resulting in a quick and immediate situation.
"We made sure that the bunker environment is similar to that players have become used to in previous Amnesia games," says the author. "We've made sure that the bunker environment remains the same."
