Although Sony has confirmed its participation in GDC 2023, there are others who will have to torment their way out of attending the Game Developers Conference scheduled for next week in San Francisco.
The famed Rust, a survival game, has been authored by Facepunch Studios. In a brief press release shared by the studio's official Twitter account, the development team announced that it would no longer be participating in the GDC 2023. The studio's desire to ensure the safety of the developers lies in this decision.
The software house has not provided further information regarding the threats received, only letting people know if they would have liked to speak to the team at the San Francisco fair. In fact, the developers have offered to provide feedback via email to artists and professionals who would have liked to submit their portfolio to Facepunch Studios.
Microsoft will be exhibiting at the GDC 2023, which will take place between Monday 20 and Friday 24 March 2023.
