After several months where nothing was disclosed about a possible PlayStation 5 Pro console, the truth is that the last few days have been pure craziness, with several "leaks" and rumors predicting the release of that same Sony console.
I'm still undecided whether or not the PS5 Pro is a viable option, given that the Japanese manufacturer was only able to restart production on the original model a few weeks ago. Despite this, Microsoft appears to have a new model on the way.
Sony has plenty of time to produce a Pro version of its current PlayStation 5 that is only expected to be released in 2027 or 2028.
Nevertheless, it is a console that will have a competitor in the form of a new Xbox Series X, which Microsoft is fond of, and which is being investigated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in great detail.
In short, finding out who both companies are developing new hardware is no big deal. However, it's amazing to see that there are plans for everything within both companies. Is Sony planning to release something new? Microsoft has an answer! Something that is probably also very controlled.
What do you think about all of this? Do you agree that it makes sense to launch Pro consoles, especially since we only have now a decent stock of 'next generation' consoles? Do you agree that it makes sense to launch Pro consoles?
