Shuhei Yoshida of Sony was named this year's BAFTA Games Fellowship. It's a cash prize given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the video game industry. The ceremony will take place on March 30, 2023.

Shuhei Yoshida is one of the most well-known figures in the industry. Before joining Sony in 1993, he coordinated the development of the prima PlayStation, as well as the platform's third-party licensing program. In April 2000, he was promoted to president of SCE Worldwide Studios.

In 2019, he was appointed to the Independent Developer Initiative, which was set up to assist PlayStation indie developers. As explained in the press release, Yoshida's BAFTA Fellowship demonstrates his dedication to indie developers. He has consistently championed the independent game industry through podcasts, official PlayStation videos, and other media.

Frankie Ward will present the 19th BAFTA Games Awards in London on 30 March 2023.
