Since January of this year at the latest, it has been known that a new film about DC hero Superman is in the works. However, at the end of the day, it is clear who will direct the film. Interestingly, this is a Marvel expert.
The new Superman film will be directed by this director.
James Gunn, the man responsible for the conception of the new DC universe along with Peter Safran, will take the director's seat in the sequel to Superman: Legacy. Gunn did that himself, as previously revealed in a tweet. He initially rejected the director position for this project. At the same time his brother has pointed out the crucial date for the theatrical release.
“I am directing Superman: Legacy, which will be released on July 11, 2025.” My brother Matt replied, 'Gosh, it's dad's birthday.' I hadn't noticed.
James Gunn is most likely to be known to Marvel fans. Among other things, he was the director for the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy. The third film starring this illustrious group of heroes will be released on May 5, 2023.
