According to a federal court filing, Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, 39, recently welcomed her second child with husband William "Billy" Evans. The former CEO's new addition serves as the reason her defense claims she shouldn't be sentenced while she appeals her conviction. She will begin her sentence in April.
According to the outlet, Elizabeth has deep connections to the community: she is the mother of two very young children; she has close connections with extended family and acquaintances, many of whom submitted evidence at the sentencing, and she volunteers with a rape crisis and counseling organization.
Elizabeth founded Theranos in 2003, which quickly became a hit because of its ability to develop a blood test that claimed to only require a few drops of blood. In 2013, The Wall Street Journal published investigative reports about the company, which revealed that the blood tests were inaccurate. It was also barred from certain medical practices.
Theranos agreed to a half-million-dollar settlement against the fraud allegations, according to an SEC press release. Elizabeth started her trial for the wire fraud and conspiracy charges on September 8 via ABC News. One count was of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

According to the couple's website, Anne and William D. Evans founded the Evans Hotel Group in 1953. William D. died in 1984, and the couple's two oldest children Grace Evans Cherahore and William L. Evans took on leadership roles. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) in July of 2021, and the couple recently welcomed their second child, William Holmes Evans.
Nick Bilton, a Vanity Fair reporter, posted a few screenshots of Billy's social media pages, including one where he wrote a sweet birthday message to Elizabeth: "Happy birthday to my best friend."
What Was Elizabeth and Billy's Connection?
According to The New York Post, Billy and the founder of Theranos met at a party in the Bay Area in 2017. The two got engaged in 2019 and invites were sent out quickly after. According to a colleague, Billy showed his love for the former CEO by gifting her a triple-A diamond engagement ring.
According to NPR, Billy's dad appeared at Elizabeth's trial in disguise, despite the pair's apparent smittenness.

William's current job situation isn't clear, but he's got a decent resume, according to his LinkedIn profile. He spent time as an MIT student, before working for Altman Vilandrie & Company and as a summer associate at The Boston Consulting Group. He also worked as a student brand ambassador for Red Bull.
