Phil Spencer was the subject of an interview on the Xbox On YouTube channel, which revealed a lot of interesting information about Xbox, including the fact that Microsoft may have other "GoldenEye-like" surprises during the planning stages for the big summer presentation.
Microsoft intends to host its own presentation conference dedicated to Xbox Game Studios and collaborators on June 2023 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, although there is still no specific date in this regard.
This is the most likely location to hold the most important announcements and preview presentations, but before you get to this event, Microsoft appears to have planned some surprises similar to those that were released with the launch of GoldenEye 007.
At the end of January, the game in question, which was developed by Nintendo, was launched practically by surprise on Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch Online.
Microsoft appears to have enjoyed the mode, given that it was also used for the launch of Hi-Fi Rush, which launched onto the market completely unprepared and without having ever heard of it before.
'We are very keen on the June showcase,' Spencer said, "but there are certain things that will arrive sooner," according to Spencer, who stated that these will be "similar to what we did with GoldenEye, therefore announcements on that style."
The intention is that other games' launches would be kept private until presentation and release are anticipated, though there may be additional "expired drops" of titles that might be of minor production, considering the case under consideration.
Spencer said in the same interview that Starfield had never been promised for PlayStation and that Xbox does not take games from competitors.
