The PC and console remake of "Resident Evil 4" will be released in a few weeks. If co-director Yasuhiro Ampo wins, fans can anticipate a terrifying remake.
After 'Dead Space' last month, 'Resident Evil 4' is another stronghold of the survival horror genre returning to the current systems in a few weeks.
In an interview with GameInformer, co-director Yasuhiro Ampo talked about the project's goals. According to Ampo, decision-makers quickly came to the conclusion that "Resident Evil 4"'s fundamental gameplay or structure is still powerful today and, in principle, only needs minor tweaks.
Ampo claims that the original Resident Evil 4 has been made even more terrifying than the original.
Developers are promising additional horror and variety.
"The gameplay itself is incredibly good," says Ampo. "We didn't want to alter much in this general framework." However, we felt like we could take each component and go deeper there." So our approach was, can we make the original horror elements more terrifying?
"I think one of the main factors that influenced the original was how novel the mechanics were." We knew from the start that in today's environment, this would not be possible. That's why we never stated that goal."
"Our objective was not to modify changes that occurred since the release of the original, but to create a new form of Resident Evil games."

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. PlayStation VR2 will also receive free DLC for owners of the game.
Despite the fact that no specific date has been mentioned here, it's unclear when it will be released.
