The real-life taxidermy statue of Cocaine Bear
The Kentucky for Kentucky Fun Mall, located in Lexington, Kentucky, is the proud owner of the real-life Cocaine Bear taxidermy statue.
The real bear died after ingesting a large quantity of the substance and was discovered in Georgia's Chattahoochee National Forest in 1985.
The examiner declared that burnt the body as it was in excellent health after the bear died.
The Cocaine Bear's body was then stuffed and given to the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Later, it was placed in storage due to an imminent wildfire and was later stolen.
Waylon Jennings, an Anonymous Outlaw Country Musical, purchased the stuffed bear from a pawn shop and gifted it to his friend Ron Thompson.
After Thompson's death, a large portion of his estate was put up for auction, which is when the owners of the Kentucky mall stepped in to try and get it — and it's been there ever since.
