Final Fantasy 16, the upcoming JRPG sequel to the long-running Square Enix series, will have large maps.
The game will not have a fully open world, according to a recent Final Fantasy 16 roundtable with the game's director Hiroshi Takai (via IGN), as this provides more opportunities for non-linear exploration.
As previously mentioned, the Hideaway is the starting point for all of your main missions and sidequests. FF16 will not have hidden dungeons as a surprise for many fans.
Final Fantasy 16 will be released on PS5 on the 22nd June. According to producer Naoki Yoshida, the game will not be delayed.
