Final Fantasy 16 will be released on PlayStation 5 on 22 June for the first time. Many people speculate that this title will be delayed like other Final Fantasy titles.
According to producer Naoki Yoshida, the game would not be delayed "unless a meteor falls on Japan." He also made reference to titles like Final Fantasy 15 and Final Fantasy VII Remake, which were previously postponed for six weeks. The latter was extended for seven weeks.
Naoki Yoshida and his crew appear to be quite adamant about the game being released on 22 June. Of course, the previous reports and hands-on that were released also showed that Square Enix is confident in its upcoming sequel.
Final Fantasy 16 is a good balance between an action game like Devil May Cry and a dark fantasy drama like Game of Thrones, as Yoshida and his team are avid fans of this particular FF universe. That's generally a step in the right direction, right?
