Illumination, Nintendo, and Universal have announced that the film would be released earlier than planned. It was originally scheduled to be released on April 7, 2023, but will now be released in many countries on April 5, 2023.
The official release date for The Super Mario Bros Movie was released here. The publication also stated that further countries would receive the film later in April 2023 and May 2023, but did not name which countries would receive it before.
Nintendo has announced that a second Direct for The Super Mario Bros Movie will be released in the coming months. It is speculated that this will focus on the Mario Kart elements in the film. That will air on March 9, 2023 at 2pm PT/5pm ET/11pm CET.
For countries in North America and other regions, the release date for the Super Mario Bros film has been changed to April 5, 2023. It will launch in Japan on April 28, 2023.
