Studio Luminous Productions, which played a key role in the creation of Final Fantasy 15, will soon be sold. It was evident that the studio had had poor sales, which would not allow it to continue in its current form.
This process was referred to as "unification" by the developers. According to the official press release, Luminous Productions will merge with Square Enix on May 1 this year. This is said to be necessary to create "innovative gaming experiences".
Luminous Productions is scheduled to cease operations at the present time, but game industry experts caution that the original team would be disbanded and sent to other studios after the release of the Forspoken add-on and all the necessary adjustments to the game. This scenario appears to be extremely plausible.
Luminous Productions has promised to release a new version of Forspoken with improvements soon, as well as the promised DLC in the summer.
