Square Enix has announced that Forspoken developers Luminous Productions would be merged with Square Enix on May 1st.
In 2018, Luminous Productions was dissolved as its own entity, utilizing the remnants of the Final Fantasy XV team. Forspoken is the only game this team in this current name will produce.
As outlined in this press release, Square Enix's intention is to "continue to strengthen the Group's competitive advantage," according to the company's current medium-term business strategy.
While Forspoken's development team will continue to work on a patch to boost game performance, the DLC "In Tanta We Trust" is still planned to be released sometime this summer.
