The issue with the acquisition of Activision Blizzard will only worsen as strict supervision by state authorities in different countries is given. Xbox is currently assisting competitors in reaching sweet agreements, such as recent partnerships with Nintendo and NVIDIA. The real obstacle in the transaction, however, is Sony, who is currently confronting many of the company's obstacles.
Phil Spencer said that even if the acquisition fails, the Xbox brand will continue to expand.
The executive expressed displeasure with the government's tight control, claiming that it wreaks havoc on competition and weakens those in direct competition (in this case, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo itself).
Spencer emphasized that regulators lack in depth knowledge on the subject at hand, making Xbox's situation worse in the long run. Phil remains willing to assist regulators in whatever they need.
