As you know, the Steam sales chart isn't determined by the number of sales of projects, but by the profit they bring. This was an unusual twist on this chart since shareware games were included for the first time in the top 10.
Apex Legends sft. drew the attention of Hogwarts Legacy, yet again, this time for free to play: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
The top ten most commercially successful Steam projects in the last week appears to be this:
1) Apex Legends (freetoplay). 2) Hogwarts Legacy. 3) Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (free play). 4) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. 5) PUBG: Battlegrounds. 7) Wild Hearts. 8) Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel (freetoplay). 9) Destiny 2 (freetoplay.
This is a good example of how a large number of shareware games may be explained: they also make good money, but in a different way: these include in-game currency, cosmetic items, special statuses, extensions, and similar content.
