Apple has resumed preparations for the fourth-generation iPhone SE smartphone, which will be powered by a Cupertino company's 5G chip, according to TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who for a couple of months stated that Apple would not be releasing a new iPhone SE.

The new iPhone SE will have a 6.1-inch OLED display with thinner bezels, according to a MacRumors source, while the current iPhone SE has a 4.7-inch LCD display with thicker bezels. Displays for the new iPhone SE will be supplied by the Chinese company BOE.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the next-generation iPhone SE will include an Apple-designed 5G modem that can only connect to sub-6GHz 5G bands.

The new iPhone SE isn't expected to be released until March 2024 or later, according to Kuo. The current iPhone SE smartphone went on sale in the United States in March 2022, starting at $429.
