This was probably the reason for Valve to include shareware games in the top 10 for the first time, which unexpectedly impacted this very chart, because it was the free-to-play project that literally took the first line.
Apex Legends amounted to a game that lasted for hours, despite its might and main, sending a blast across the sands of Hogwarts Legacy. Another free-to-play game that needs no introduction is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
The top ten commercially successful Steam projects in the last week looks like this:

Such a large number of shareware games is explained in a simple way: they also make good money, but in a different way: these are sales of in-game currency, cosmetic items, special statuses, extensions, and other items.
