The Thaumaturge, a role-playing game developed by people from CD Projekt and currently being reimagined as The Witcher, has been announced as their first joint venture. It was previously known as Project Vitriol.
The Thaumaturge's events take place in a different reality where there are supernatural beings, salutors, and thaumaturges — persons who can control them. Salutors, thaumaturges, can have a positive impact on people, but this power comes at a cost.
The developers promise that in The Thaumaturge you may "create your own narrative" and that player's choices may have unanticipated consequences.
The Thaumaturge is being developed for Unreal Engine 5 and has no release date yet.
