Tim Kane and Leonard Boyarsky, who both worked on the first Fallout and now work on Obsidian, have mentioned that they want the classic RPG released in 2019 to be remastered on next generation platforms. They want it to be remastered, including changes to graphics, animation, controls, and performance.
Alas, since then, we have not heard a single announcement related to the Fallout series, and Bethesda itself is still committed to supporting Fallout 76. And it is unclear whether the desires of the cult series will affect anything in this situation.
