The cause of Jansen Panettiere's death has been determined to be an enlarged heart and other issues. He and his sister Hayden shared his cause of death in a statement to ABC News a little over a week after his unexpected death.
Cardiomegaly may be caused by certain heart conditions and damage, but some symptoms include shortness of breath, arrhythmia, and more, according to the Mayo Clinic.
The Panettieres stated that Jansen's death was "seen in his eyes," and that his charm was "seen in his brilliant, engaging smile, his soul in his masterful and detailed paintings," and the joy of living "seen in his dry wit."
Jansen died on the weekend of February 18 and 19. No cause of death was discovered at the time of his death, and foul play was not suspected. He also lent his voice to the animated films Robots (2005) and Ice Age: The Meltdown (2006).
Jansen had begun to paint in addition to his acting in the recent years. Prior to his death, he shared a lot of his work and merchandise with his art on his Instagram.
