Following the passing of his late wife Alicia Allain on February 21, John Schneider, 62, wrote a statement on Facebook saying, "I simply have no words," but "I miss you dearly, Mrs. Schneider."

John shared a photo of him and Alicia from the Christmas season, with a longer message about grief and sorrow. "Alicia was the glue that anchored my entire existence," the Dukes of Hazzard singer said. "I miss her more than any words could describe."

John thanked his fans for their support in the wake of Alicia's death. "Please don't see me standing on the stage or in line at a coffee shop," he said. "The answer is currently too difficult for me to comprehend," and it's certainly too painful to articulate."

On Instagram, John announced that his wife died on February 23. He asked for everyone to "please respect our privacy during this difficult time." The actor also wrote in his tragic post, "Please post any photos of us and our evident love and adoration for each other."

Alicia, who was John's producing partner, was diagnosed with cancer in 2019, the same year that they married. Alicia said of their wedding day, which she described as a "a sanctuary of love."
