The program was renewed for a third season on August 11, one month before the premiere of season two.

Season 3 of the New York-based criminal drama has begun filming, but no premiere date has been established. The release date for Seasons 1 and 2 of Power Book II: Ghost is much later than the first season. Also, the second episode of Power Book IV: Force will not premiere until later in the spring.
There is no reason to think the program would not be completed by the mid-to-late-summer. Instead, you have Party Down, Heels, Hightown, and other finished series. MeKai Curtis and the company may not return until the fall.

Grantham Coleman will play a key role in Power Book III: Raising Kanan's coming third season. This follows the heartbreaking cliffhanger that ended the Sunday night drama's second season.
Coleman, who has appeared on shows like The Americans on FX, will portray Unique's just-released older brother. Yet a shocking degree of cruelty lies beneath the surface. Ronnie is not just immoral, he is also unyielding, and vindictive.
Along with Omar Epps, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Shanley Caswell, and Antonio Ortiz co-star in the series.
Sascha Penn is the showrunner and executive producer, alongside Courtney A. Kemp, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, Mark Canton, Chris Selak, Kevin Fox, and Natasha Gray. Lionsgate Television produces the program.
Coleman has completed filming for George C. Wolfe's Rustin and Alejandro González Iárritu's Bardo, both of which are coming to an end, the first of which opened in Venice. He has also returned to Broadway in Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga's Sam Gold's Macbeth production.
Bobby Seale is played by Chris Abbot in the films Black Bear and Aubrey Plaza and Chris Abbot's Seberg.
