Nissan has set more high-profile goals for the electric transition ...

Nissan Motor is an exception in this respect, as it was once the most popular electric vehicle in the world. Now, the company intends to increase the percentage of electrified vehicles in the sales structure to 55% by 2030.

According to Reuters, this Japanese automaker is expected to reduce the share of traction electric vehicles to only half by the specified date, and also to introduce 23 new models with traction electric motors, of which 15 will be fully battery, and the rest will be hybrids. The new objective implies a jump in the share of electrified cars to 55%, and also a widening of their range to 19 "thoroughbred" electric vehicles.

Two Nissan Motor plants in Tennessee will serve the domestic electric vehicle market. The first will focus on the manufacturing of electric vehicles themselves, while the second will produce power units. Somewhere by calendar year 2026, Nissan will be able to bring production localization to a level that allows brand products to qualify for the state subsidy program for sales of electric vehicles to the US population.
