Jessica Chastain shared encouraging words with Philip Seymour Hoffman for her part in Showtime's George & Tammy. Julia Garner (Inventing Anna), Amanda Seyfried (The Dropout) and Emily Blunt (The English) were also nominated for the 2023 SAG Awards.
Philip Seymour Hoffman told my class when I was in college. He passed away from a drug overdose in 2014 at the age of 46. She also played Tammy Wynette, who died of a heroin overdose in 2022. She won the best actress award for her role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye on Netflix's YouTube channel.
Jessica Chastain received her third SAG Award and her second in a row for her role as country singer Tammy Wynette in Showtime's George and Tammy. Philip Seymour Hoffman said, "I am looking forward to working with you all."
The 29th Screen Actors Guild Awards will be held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California. Both feature films were nominated by Netflix's Better Call Saul and Ozark.
