Elden Ring, FromSoftware's latest action RPG, is about to celebrate its 1st year anniversary, and it has already reached a major milestone, selling over 20 million copies.
We now know how big a hit From Soft's latest soulslike iteration is (is it a soulslike if it's by the actual developers that made the Souls games?).
As a reference point, Sony's biggest title of last year, God Of War Ragnarok, has sold 11 million copies since it was released a year after Elden Ring, so this isn't a fair comparison time wise. It should serve as a general overview of how large the numbers are.
Elden Ring is widely regarded as the game of 2022 (although not here at Gamer Matters, for reasons).
With Armored Core VI: Fires Of Rubicon, which is scheduled to be released later this year, FromSoftware will take a break from its desolate world of ruin and return to the mecha-action series.
Elden Ring is now available on PS4, PS5, and PC through Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
