Microsoft has signed a 10-year agreement to license Call of Duty games to Nintendo ...

In the first year, information suggested that Microsoft would be prepared to offer a 10-year contract for the release of Call of Duty games on Steam and on Nintendo (where the franchise had not previously been released). Both companies are concerned about the possibility of the Call of Duty series losing its appeal following the conclusion of the deal with Activision Blizzard.

Brad Smith, Microsoft's president, said today that the issue has been documented. The two Japanese companies have signed a 10-year deal to release Call of Duty games on their consoles at the same time as their Xbox release.

Gabe Newell, Steam's CEO, stated earlier that he does not require such agreements, as he trusts Microsoft and Phil Spencer.
