Morgan Evans, 37, is outraged after his ex-wife Kelsea Ballerini, 29, admitted she didn't want to marry him and made some untrue statements about his character. The former husband posted a message on Instagram, calling the country singer's comments "sad" and not "reality," and urging people to refrain from "mean" to either of them.
Morgan wrote in his blog that it's "deep for me" that she sees someone who I spent so much of my life with and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren't true or that leave out what really happened. "She understands that I'm not the type to say those things publicly."
"I hope it helps," he continued. "Don't be mean to Kelsea, and don't be mean to each other."
Morgan's message comes on the same day that Kelsea, whom he split from after five years of marriage in 2022, made headlines for her discussion about their romance and divorce on an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, which will be released in full on Wednesday.
Kelsea said she didn't know what "character" he was at the time their marriage ended. "He's taking half the house he didn't pay for," she said. "What motivated me to marry this guy for this long and didn't realize that something special was hidden within him?"
Kelsea announced her separation from Morgan in Aug. 2022. She wrote an Instagram post stating that the "deeply difficult decision" was the result of "a journey of love, growth, and effort that has come to an end."
