Carlos Reyes reconnects with his best friend Iris Blake for the fourth season of FOX's action series '9-1-1: Lone Star.' Carlos discovers a tunnel that goes directly to the house where Iris was discovered, only to get hurt and lose consciousness. Meanwhile, TK visits the house to inquire about his partner without realizing that Carlos is not his fiancé.
Darryl's mother unties Carlos for him to flee, but the criminal arrives at the house to stop him. Carlos tries to hurt Darryl to flee, which leads the latter's mother to inject a lot of morphine into the cop's mouth, and the man rescues Carlos from death. Carlos is transported to a hospital so that he may recover completely from the incident.
Carlos has been a witness to several dangerous incidents throughout his career. We can anticipate him to be involved in more high-profile cases, which will put him at serious danger. If the beloved character's death was a part of the plot, the authors may have taken advantage of his life-threatening encounter with Darryl.
While the killing of characters is one of the most common narrative developments in procedural series, there are other programs that have done so. However, Rafael L. Silva, who plays Carlos, hasn't expressed any desire to leave the series for the time being. He may also risk his life to protect Austin, especially if a nazi group is plotting a bomb blast.
Carlos and TK may be seen waiting for their wedding day in future episodes. It is extremely unlikely that the writers would "sacrifice" one of the show's driving forces by killing Carlos and putting an end to the "Tarlos" narrative.
