Atomic Heart is out and is making waves, especially after a series of mixed reviews. Now, however, the situation is becoming more serious because the Ukraine is requesting Sony, Microsoft, and Valve to ban the Russian game. The reason? The developer appears to have links to the state-owned energy company Gazprom.
"We also request that the distribution of the game in other countries be restricted due to its toxic nature, the possibility of user data being shared with third parties in Russia, as well as the possibility of using the proceeds from game sales to support Ukraine's war," said Ukrainian minister Alexander Bornyakov.
Mundfish has its headquarters in Cyprus, but the team is thought to be mostly Russian, and we will have to see if and how Microsoft, Sony, and Valve will respond.
Atomic Heart was the first Steam title to be released, despite overwhelming positive reviews.
