In just two days, the original Angry Birds, one of the most popular mobile games ever, will be removed from Google Play e renamed on the App Store: it will be available starting from February 23, according to Rovio, which however explained the reasons for this decision in a tweet.
The reasons for this unusual choice in play depend on the impact of the first Angry Birds on the company's catalogue: the game, which attracted the majority of users at the time of its release, ends the day unaware of the various sequels and spin-offs the development team has created over the years.
From February 23rd, the original Angry Birds will be removed from Google Play (while remaining playable for those who have already downloaded it — and if you haven't already downloaded it, it's absolutely appropriate to do so). On the App Store, it will be changed to Red's First Flight.
Angry Birds has received over 2 billion downloads, allowing Rovio to build solid collections and resurrect a franchise that quickly became a media mix between cartoons, comics, books, and cinema films.
