In its most recent iOS app update, WhatsApp Messenger has begun implementing picture-in-picture support, so that users may record a video call in a small window while doing other activities on their iPhone.
Previously, users had to swipe out of WhatsApp, which paused the video for the person on the call.
After the update is downloaded and installed, clicking off the call will prompt you to select a picture-in-picture window that will remain visible even while accessing other apps, so you and the other person you're talking to may continue to chat.
WhatsApp says the new features will be available in the next weeks.
